References & Symbolism

The second layer defines the individual characters and elements that make up the scene. These are not arbitrary nor are they incidental. They are symbolic in some cases and representative in others.

I should point out, quite importantly, that Picasso, though acknowledged symbolism in his work, he refused to provide any clarification to the meanings and definitions to anything but the obvious that we see at the first layer of this painting. He preferred that the viewer arrive at their own interpretations to the work. So, the interpretations you see here are my own. I have tried hard to form various correlations with known facts and correlations with the concepts with each other to support my theories…but they are still only my interpretations and are no more or less valid than anybody else’s.

We will see symbolisms for manner of Picasso's life... Religeon, Mistresses, Political, Patriotism, Equity, Nostalgia and probably many more besides...
