Nikolai Blokhin
Nikolai Blokhin is a Russian professional artist, born in St Petersburg in 1968.
His works cover oils, drawings and mixed media. The subject matter is very 'Russian' in terms of the subject compositions and the subjects themselves. I seldom tire of looking through his works. I like the way he can get the details of an unusual expression, the use of thicker charcoal lines for the main outlines. His mastering of the human form is exceptional when you look at some of the sketches that served as the plans for the oil based work that followed.
